Black Bryony (Tamus communis) is a plant that has historically been used in traditional medicine and the root of the plant has been used in the preparation of many herbal remedies. It is important to note that this tincture is ONLY for external use. It can be used externally in compresses at the problem area but the tincture can be toxic if consumed internally.
It is thought to be the natural solution for musculoskeletal pain as it has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic effects. Its recommended use is to offer relief for rheumatic pain, varicos veins, bone deformities, bruises, muscular pain, joint pain, arthritis, meniscus pain, frostbite, chilblains and gout.
Extracts such as tinctures offer a convenient alternative to herbal teas. Many are used in food, food supplements, cosmetics and as an ingredient by herbalists. It is important to note that whilst many people find herbal remedies helpful, individual responses can vary.
