Sweet, fleshy kapia red peppers are a staple of Romanian cuisine, loved for their bright colour, juicy texture and naturally sweet flavour. In this traditional preserve, they are combined with a sweet and slightly spicy mustard sauce to create a dish that is both hearty and vibrant.
This preserve is especially enjoyed in the winter months, when such jars of pickled and preserved vegetables brighten the table. The combination of sweet peppers and tangy mustard makes it a perfect side dish for roast meats, sausages or hearty stews, but it can also be served alongside fresh bread and cold meats and cheeses.
Behind every jar is Lădița Verde, a family producer from the village of Macea in Arad county, where vegetables are grown with care and transformed into preserves using recipes passed down through generations. Each batch is handmade in small quantities, ensuring the authentic taste of traditional Romanian winters.
