These crunchy, juicy, spicy pickled jalapeno peppers have a medium level heat and a meaty flesh. The flavour is hot, sweet, sour and tangy and they are the perfect addition to any pantry shelves! Excellent to add a tasty, subtle warmth to sandwiches, to serve with the traditional Romanian sour soup 'ciorbă' or straight from the jar to compliment a cheese & meat selection. You can use these pickled jalapenos just as you would fresh jalapeno chiles.
The jalapenos are from 'Grădinile Mălâncrav' which means 'The Gardens of Mălâncrav', where they are grown in clean soil with plentiful nutrients that give them that special taste. The vegetables here grow in rhythm with nature in the beautiful Transylvanian village of Mălâncrav, they are not forced or influenced by other factors, but grown traditionally in the open air. The garden is an agricultural land with High Nature Value Farmland on which they practice sustainable agriculture, which blends harmoniously with the rich biodiversity in the area.
