Amillaria – DE MÂNĂ. Transylvanian food stories

Amillaria

THE STORY...

WHO IS AMILLARIA?

Amillaria, a family business, began in 2004 inspired by a desire to return to nature. Amillaria is located in Cluj county in the heart of Transylvania. Their mission is to offer people the immense riches of Transylvanian nature in the form of high quality produce as close as possible to their natural state. This love for nature & tradition combined with a passion for quality led them to set up a family business offering a true taste of nature.

WHAT DO THEY DO?

More than simply offering a taste of nature, Amillaria aim to offer healthy alternatives to an everyday lifestyle that can be increasingly degraded by urban agitations and 'lack of time'. A small step towards a better life and a recognition of Romanian authenticity. The fruits & vegetables used for their products are carefully handpicked in the local mountains or orchards and processed with great care. This means that the final products deliver optimum taste & freshness.

THE PRODUCE... WHAT IS ZACUSCA?

A traditional vegetable preserve made from flame cooked aubergines & peppers, onions, fresh tomato juice, oil & seasoning. Sometimes with the addition of mushrooms, carrots or chilli peppers. 100% natural and free from additives. It is typically served on bread and eaten as a relish or spread.
